BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State sophomore tennis player Matt Gill heads up the Division I Independent All-Academic Team for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average in mathematics. Junior Steve Grantz joins Gill on the All-Academic team for maintaining a 3.33 GPA in electrical engineering.

In order to made the all-academic team, a player must be a sophomore in athletic standing and carry a 3.20 cumulative GPA.

FORT WAYNE, IN - The thirteen member All-Academic Men’s Tennis team finished out the 2006-07 school year with a cumulative

GPA of 3.51.

Matt Gill of South Dakota State held the team’s highest GPA with a 4.0 as a sophomore. Gill is majoring in

Mathematics.The Division I Independent Men’s Tennis All-Academic team was selected by sports information directors at member

institutions. Nominations from each school were accepted for student-athletes who had at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and

had reached a sophomore athletic standing.
